As Managing Director, Jacqueline Leßig-Owlanj has actively promoted and successively developed the promotion and support of scientists in early career phases at Clausthal University of Technology since 2017 with the establishment of the Graduate Academy. The focus here is on needs-based orientation and offers tailored to the target groups. Internal, regional and supra-regional networking and exchange with interested parties and colleagues from other service institutions are an important part of the work and enable cooperation projects that flexibly and purposefully address the requirements of the labor market for interdisciplinary skills development and enable networking and exchange between scientists across disciplines.

It is active in various working groups and committees within TU Clausthal as well as in Germany-wide networks for the promotion and support of scientists in early career phases. These include the Senate Commission for the Responsibility of Science and Good Scientific Practice and the Steering Committee for Personnel Development at Clausthal University of Technology as well as the Arbitration Network within the University Association for the Qualification of Scientists in Early Career Phases (UniWinD).

Jacqueline Leßig-Owlanj holds a doctorate in medical biochemistry from Leipzig University and was herself a junior research group leader at the Translational Center for Regenerative Medicine Leipzig and a senior research fellow at the School of Materials Science and Engineering/ Nanyang Technological University Singapore before moving into science management in 2013. From 2014, she worked in the promotion of scientists in early career phases in the Joint Research Academy of the Cluster of Excellence hearing4all, a cooperation project of the University of Oldenburg, Leibnitz University Hannover and Hannover Medical School.
